The general objective of this course is to understand the meaning of the main economic indicators and how they are impacting the business environment.
At the end of the course, students will:
- What are the economic indicators? What is GDP, inflation, unemployment, etc?
- What do they cover? What is included in inflation, what is not in GDP, who is in the unemployment and who is not?
- What is their significance? What do fiscal balances, trade balance or the exchange rate tell us?
- Where and when are they are published?
- How reliable are they?
- Will they be revised or are the first-reported figures set in stone?
- How should they be interpreted?
